On Tuesday, March 19, at 5:00 p.m. (Central time–so 6:00 p.m. here) national Wild Ones and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s Sustainability Institute for Regional Transformations and the Inter-Tribal Student Council will host a talk by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
Ms. Kimmerer will discuss “Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants,” exploring the stories and experiences that shaped the author of Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants. Listeners are invited to consider what we might learn if we understood plants as our teachers, from both a scientific and an indigenous perspective.
This is a paid event for both in-person and remote viewing. Virtual registrants will receive a link to watch Dr. Kimmerer’s talk live as well as a link to the recording of the presentation. The recording can be accessed for a limited time if you are unable to attend on the 19th or wish to re-watch the talk.
The cost for a virtual registration is $18 for the general public and $14 for active Wild Ones members. A registration link is available on the “Events” tab of the chapter website, and also can be accessed by clicking here.
